Offered to Work Out New Food Safety Strategy in Azerbaijan

Development of agriculture is very important for Azerbaijan and the state strongly supports agrarian sector, chief of agrarian policy department of Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration Azer Amiraslanov said at the High Level Forum: Engaging private sector in agri-food chain development organized by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC).

He said large investments are made in this field. “The National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support has directed 65-70% of the loans to agriculture. Subsidies are given to farmers,” he said.

Amiraslanov said one of the major tasks of the country is the proper use of agricultural lands, increase of productivity in agriculture.
