State Statistical Committee: Azerbaijani Population is More Than 9.477 Million

Agshin Rafigoglu; As of January 1, 2014, Azerbaijan’s population rose by 120,600 persons or 1.3% to 9,477,100.

According to the State Statistical Committee, the population mainly increased through natural increase. Along with this, migration increase was also observed and accounted for 1.8% of the total increase.

Density of population across the country is 109 persons in every 1m². 53.2% of total population are in cities, 46.8% in villages. At the same time, 49.7% are men, 50.3% - women and there are 1,012 women for every 1,000 men.
