Ecretary General of Council of Europe: “we Can Conduct Monitoring on Human Rights Situation on Contact Line”

“The Council of Europe is ready to contribute to the solution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict”, said the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland.

He mentioned the conflict is in the hands of OSCE Minsk Group: “This is a very difficult conflict. As you know, the conflict is in the hands of OSCE Minsk Group. We don’t play any role in this issue. However, the conflict sides may ask us for help in serious issues. There is a need to establish cooperation relations between the conflict sides. This is a very sensitive issue. Because we pay mainly attention to human rights. For instance, we can conduct monitoring on human rights situation on the contact line”.
